FAQs

  • For most authors, 10 to 12 months is a comfortable and realistic pace. The timeline is heavily dependent on your manuscript and how much writing and editing support is needed. Things can certainly move more quickly if you’ve already got the manuscript written.

  • Publishing has been democratized over the years. You don’t need a publisher to help you write, edit, and publish your book. You just need a team of experts around you.

I am one of those experts, and I can help connect you with other people you’ll need along the way. With my support, you’ll be able to create a professional, impactful book, on your own terms.

  • If your main goal is to write and publish a high-quality book that you can leverage in a variety of ways (raise your credibility and status in your field, get more speaking engagements, bring in more business), then self-publishing with the help of someone like me is an excellent choice. I strive to offer more affordable options than major publishers while still bringing the expertise and quality of someone with professional experience.

If you’re looking for the status that comes from working with a traditional publisher, or you want access to sales and distribution channels that bigger publishers can provide (e.g., bookstore and airport distribution), then you are better served by going that route.

If you’re not sure about the best option for you, fill out the form on my Contact page and we can discuss your needs and how I might be able to assist or otherwise point you in the right direction.

  • Absolutely. I take no cut of royalties and have no ownership in the rights. The book is yours. I’m just here to help you bring it to life.

  • I’ll assess your needs and budget to come up with more accurate costs, but these are good benchmarks to be prepared for:

If you plan to work with a ghostwriter: at least $25,000.

If you’ve already written your manuscript: at least $10,000.

The manuscript writing is one of the biggest determinants of cost and timeline. Ghostwriting in particular can vary widely—from five to six figures.
